Currently, there are twenty-seven amendments to the United States Constitution. I consider that the twenty-eighth amendment needs to be enacted to prohibit individuals’ right to privacy. Precisely speaking, I would like to limit the freedom of the press to some extent.
As a rule, journalists interfere in the private life of the person to discuss different morals and themes, talk about crimes and the unusual occurrences in human life, post photos depicting celebrities, and describe events happening with them. Sometimes, it is done to protect the public interest. By the latter, the United States understood the public’s right to know and to get information about important public figures and actual problems. Most often, interference in private life occurs solely for business purposes, namely, to increase the circulation of publications or create scandalous TV shows. In spite of the fact that the US possesses special laws concerning the protection of the privacy of an individual, it seems that it cannot prohibit a person properly.
For example, the case of Justin Bieber and photographer Raef, who is accused of creating unsafe traffic situation in order to take photos for commercial gain obviously prove the above statement. In this connection, I strongly believe that the photographer’s actions should be considered illegal as the ramifications of such unreasonable conduct might be unpredictable. In this regard, I want to suggest a law prohibiting approach to the object of survey closer than ten meters. Furthermore, it should concern not only celebrities but also ordinary people. I consider that the proposed amendment would contribute to the safety of the population, and that it should always be of great importance to the government.
