Art and Its Purpose Within Society

Art actually contained messages beyond reflecting mythological stories and religious believes and actually the artist felt the urge to rely on these messages to their fellow men since they had experience in them. For instance, in Christo’s Running Fence, it can actually be defined as art in the sense that it had light ribbons and this was very much necessary for the people surrounding that area. It had a beautiful scene for most to watch. Most of the public art contributed to education so much in the societies.

The artist was supposed to create something meaningful for the audience since in this case, the public artist is seen as professional elites whose services are brought to the community and are supposed to beautify, enrich and enhance the quality of life in a particular community for instance in the case of Christo’s Running Fence.

You find that in most of these public arts, they usually perform art that actually carries a good message for the audience. Some of the artists are also sponsored by different organizations in order to educate the society with their art for instance they can educate the community on HIV/AIDS and hence as a result, you find that the community can benefit from this. In society, art was also used to entertain in the sense that most of the people could attend movies and other recreational activities and this is the way most people make use of their free time.

It is through attending these movies then society can be reformed in the sense that their free time can be effectively utilized and no cases of idleness which might lead people to engage in bad habits. Artists like Christo and Jeanne-Claude are actually good examples of artists who have actually performed well and have also helped reform many communities in their movies like Christo’s Running Fence, Project for Sonoma, and Marin Countries, California.
