Although some people deny the existence of climate change, it is still a rather acute problem. Climate change matters because it changes the globe’s temperature, creating impossible conditions for some plants (medical and edible), animals, and insects. Sometimes even the tiniest change in the climate can destroy the species humans were dependent on. Other problems occurring during climate change can be the destruction of the ecosystem and the thinning of the ozone layer. Unfortunately, the immediate impact of a human on the environment created the conditions for the destruction of the current ecosystem, in which humankind lives. Therefore, because of the shifting in the Earth’s temperature, humanity experiences new kinds of terminal illnesses and recent catastrophes (hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc.).

In the short term, humanity would be negatively affected by climate change in various ways. As one can observe now, people are continually disputing whether or not the phenomenon exists. Those who believe in its existence are still fighting over the ways to prevent and fix climate change. In future years such disputes can divide the society into several parts, continuously fighting over the matter. In the long term, climate change can cause more destruction, leading to several massive volcanoes erupting, which could potentially wipe out humanity altogether.

Moreover, if the natural catastrophes would not destroy humankind, the new diseases, spreading hunger, and the lack of freshwater could do so. Because of the icebergs’ thawing, the levels of freshwater on Earth would significantly decrease, leaving the creatures on Earth to fight over the remaining supply. This is why humans have to talk about climate change and resolve the problem quickly, or there will be no life on Earth in the future.
