Software as a Service (SaaS) is the most commonly used service for cloud computing. SaaS is very easy to understand and use. It can be used via a web browser and there is no need to download or install any application.

Salesforce.com

Salesforce.com is a universal cloud computing service. The company is based in San Francisco, California and provides cloud advisory and cloud transformation services. Under such services, customers can avail global implementation and business architecture leadership. It has the expertise to address various characteristics of implementation. The service is capable of dealing with multi-cloud deployments to huge data requirements (Salesforce, 2014). The best part is probably the facility given to users under which they can configure CRM application and add any required custom fields.

Cloud Gaming

Cloud Gaming is an online gaming facility that uses two kinds of streaming: ‘video’ and ‘file’. Games can be played using various devices such as computers, consoles and mobile phones. In video streaming, games are stored on a server that can be accessed by users. This particular feature removes the need of any console or computer to play games. In file streaming, users can play games on their mobile phones and computers. To start with, a small portion of the game is downloaded on the user’s device so that the game can be started. During the game play, the remaining part is downloaded on the device.

Platform as a Service (PaaS)

Platform as a Service is the most complicated service among all the cloud applications. It provides software programmers with a skeleton on which various applications can be structured.

Google App Engine

Google App Engine facilitates structuring and operating of applications. The process is carried out via Google infrastructure. There is no need to maintain any servers; the user has to simply upload the application and start using. The App Engine supports various programming languages such as Java, Python, PHP, and Go. Usually, one GB of storage is free to use and if more storage is required, the same can be obtained on payment (What is Google App Engine, 2014).

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

Maintaining resources related to networking and manpower involves huge investment. Most of the businesses avoid this and rely on Infrastructure as a Service for their business needs. The companies providing IaaS preserve the hardware where users avail unlimited storage capacity.

Windows Azure

Microsoft launched Windows Azure in order to manage applications via data centers. The application allows features such as infrastructure, data management, identity and access management, storage, backup and recovery of data, and API management. Users have the option to build their own sites (Microsoft Azure, 2014).

ReadySpace Cloud Services

ReadySpace is a cloud service that provides cloud hosting, VPN, etc. the company sells domain names and users can utilize services such as web hosting and cloud hosting. There are dedicated servers that provide hybrid cloud and private cloud.

Network as a Service (NaaS)

Network as a Service offers various networking services where the user simply needs to have a computer and access to the concerned portal. It is a cost-effective service where new entrants can minimize their initial costs.

VPN, MVNO

As the name suggests, Virtual Private Network (VPN) offers access to a private network through internet. VPN also allows users to maintain security and create a cohesive network among various global offices. People or businesses that do not have their own spectrum, opt for Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO).
