There are a number of courses that I am pursuing in my concentration. These courses include Medical Terminology, Health Care Economics, Healthcare quality concepts and principles, and health care systems and administrations. The medical terminology course is important for the understanding of the core health and medical terms. Since the concentration will ultimately lead me to secure a career in the healthcare sector, the medical terminology course offers knowledge of the key medical concepts and medical terminology that is essential for people working in such an environment. Healthcare economics, as a core course of this concentration, address the need for a basic level of awareness of health economics. This course provides the necessary knowledge in understanding current and future changes so as to adapt to future changes in the industry. Health care economics look at the finances and the cost of medical entities and provides the necessary knowledge of the economic management of health care providers.

The healthcare quality concepts and principles course offers an opportunity for a deeper understanding of quality improvement and performance measurement in the healthcare setting. It should be noted that the issue of patient and work process quality has gained ground in the healthcare sector. The course places emphasis on the importance of healthcare executives to ensure and put in process performance measures that are customer-centered to ensure quality services. Health care systems and administration courses embrace information technology. Breakthroughs in information technology are critical in increasing the quality and administration of healthcare facilities. Health care systems and administrations deal with available computerized clinical support systems in the administration of healthcare provision. Additionally, it also provides various ways of utilizing information technology in the administration of hospitals or health care providers.
