My area of expertise and why I was chosen to serve on the committee

Accordingly, I am a banker by profession and currently working with Southern Bancorp. This is one of the biggest and most recognized rural development banks in America. Additionally, I am the leader of capital partners which is responsible for improving the economies and schools in some of the underdeveloped areas. Arguably, I was chosen to be the chairman of the State Board of Education because I am certain that the establishment of excellent schools and education are some of the contributing factors for an individual’s prosperity and that of the society as a whole. I also believe that the achievements of schools can be achieved through solving some of the problems affecting most schools in rural areas. Besides, I have the relevant skills needed to handle issues affecting schools and education at large. The aspects of viable educational programs, self-reliance, future educational prowess, and ability to take the recommended responsibilities are relevant in this context (Gupton, 2010). The program intends to promote self-sufficiency among its beneficiaries in the future. The mentioned provisions demonstrate why I was chosen to serve on the committee.

Demographics of my district and the possible needs

Within the district, several people are still in need of better education. Statistically, roughly seventy percent of the population is majorly full of young people who still need to go to school and obtain better education. Additionally, there is a high level of poverty in the district hence through education; most people will improve their lifestyles (Hargreaves &Fullan, 2012). The aspects of the population are important in this scheme. Appropriate selection of the targeted group within the district population will enhance the materialization of the concerned project. This is a decisive provision when considered critically. Precisely, the demographics of the District vary considerably; nonetheless, the concerned program is intentioned to benefit various interested groups with no discrimination.

Potential problems that should be Addressed

Several potential problems should be taken into consideration. The State Board of Education committee should ensure that there is an excellent connection between parents, teachers and students (Whitaker, Whitaker &Lumpa, 2008). Due to the problem in this context, parents are not able to gauge how the students are performing in school. On the other hand, teachers are also not able to gauge the performance of students when they are with their parents back at home. Research has revealed that several factors influence the effectiveness of a teacher in any given environment. Some of these factors include vocal ability, understanding of the subject, constant professional advancement, the experience of the teacher as well as accreditation of the teacher (Gupton, 2010). In the educational arena, the teacher’s preparedness is necessary as it helps in communicating the content of an intended subject. In this regard, educational facilitators must know diverse information to have the essential skills and convey this knowledge to students. Similarly, it is will not be important to the intended groups if it cannot be communicated clearly. The vocal ability has been defined as the capability to express different concepts in words. This does not only include the ability of the teacher to converse on a personal level but also his or her ability to communicate well with several people. This ability is also extended to the aptitude of the teacher to connect with fellow teachers and the parents of their students. According to research, education facilitators who have registered high competency rates will be encompassed in the intended program (Whitaker, Whitaker & Lumpa, 2008).

The mission of the curriculum

The mission of the program is to ensure that there is some link between teachers, students and the society at large. Additionally, the program is initiated to improve the level and standards of education within the young people in the society. The other mission of the program is to check on what and how the students are supposed to study (Volante, 2012). The mission is also to check the type of people who are allowed to make judgments about curriculum and instruction. The program will establish the belief of most of the teachers about their students. The State Board of Education committee is also supposed to establish how the parents are going to be involved in their children’s studies. The contribution of the principal and the assistant principal to the achievement of the education goals should be taken into consideration. They are required to spend most of their time in school to ensure that all the programs are carried out as stipulated by the school rules and regulations (Volante, 2012). The other major mission of the State Board of Education committee is to evaluate the achievements of students. In addition, the performances of the teachers are also supposed to be evaluated according to the required standards. This is a critical provision regarding the intended educational program.

The goal and the objectives

The goals and objectives will be useful since they will assist in achieving the stated mission and vision. Instructional goals will help relate what is taught in class to real-life situation. The major goal is to show teachers, students, and the entire staff that they can always find another way of leading better lives. Additionally, they will be able to enjoy a safe and industrious life by embracing education (Whitaker, Whitaker & Lumpa, 2008). This will ensure that the missions discussed above are achieved. On the other hand, numerous objectives should be taken into consideration. The first objective will be to allow teachers, students, and the entire staff to obtain some level of achievement they could not imagine would be possible. The expectations should be achieved regardless of the ethnic background of the students and teachers. For instance, many students come from different countries and are not able to speak the same language (Gupton, 2010).

The other objective is to ensure that students serve as role models to other individuals and society at large. It will also be important to consider applying the mission in this context to bring together the main theme (Hargreaves & Fullan, 2012). The other important objective is to ensure that stakeholders fully take part in the process of advancing the mission. In other contexts, pragmatic leadership will be developed through the proposed plan. Pragmatic leadership starts with the personal decision to become a leader. However, certain philosophical attributes constitute good leadership abilities and are inborn (Volante, 2012). One such attribute is intelligence. As required by the proposed plan, a leader should be intelligent enough to make the right decisions in any kind of situation. An individual must have qualities that make him/her easily accepted. One must provide pragmatic leadership provisions that seem graceful. It is believable that every leader requires some basic traits to serve his or her subjects diligently and considerably. Leaders should be honest, trusting, and open-minded. Furthermore, their subjects should always feel empowered to attain the philosophical and prospected pragmatic leadership provisions. These provisions will help nurture the proposed plans as indicated earlier.

Components of the program

Various researches will be carried out to ensure that the goals and objectives are fully met. The results will be used to gauge the level of involvement of teachers and students towards achieving the stipulated goals and objectives of various schools. The committee will also discourage disorder and satisfaction but inspire and reward some efforts and advancements that have been made (Gupton, 2010). Additionally, the researches carried out will assist in strengthening the importance of the community to the prosperity of the schools. The program intends to promote self-reliance among the beneficiaries in the future. This is a critical provision regarding the intended educational program.

The needed resources

People will be required to develop instruments that will assist them in serving their purposes. Besides, they are going to be used to gauge the numerous aspects that will discuss future education needs. Resources like learning climate inventory will be used at the elementary and secondary levels since they can easily be used compared to some other instruments (Gupton, 2010). As part of the program activities, it is important to produce some materials helpful in sensitizing various categories of the targeted learning groups. The materials required in this project include posters and billboards. They will target men aged 16 and above. This group is required to attend regular learning events to enhance their cognitive wellbeing. Young people constitute the targeted groups considered by the concerned materials will consider. These groups are expected to know more about the significance of regular medical checks among other relevant health provisions. The content of the program will highlight the mentioned learning provisions (Popham, 2001).

An assessment plan

The appropriate plan will be to recognize the teachers, parents, and some leaders from the society who are ready to support students’ learning. Additionally, administration and evaluation processes will be implemented to ensure that the long-term goals and objectives are met. The other plan is to give rewards to those students who are able to perform better as this will lead to future improvement in teaching and learning. Teachers will be encouraged to be politically active in championing the right to education. Arguably, this will improve the level of education not only in the urban areas but also in the entire nation. The teachers will ensure that the report cards reach the parents on time (Gupton, 2010). Consequently, this will help the parents to gauge the study level of their children. The program will serve critical roles in the education sectors of the district as indicated before.

The benefits of the program

The program has several benefits that can bring more change to society. It is going to ensure that the quality of people’s attitude towards listening is improved. Through the program, the teacher, student and parent relationship will be improved. Precisely, the program intends to promote self-reliance among the beneficiaries in the future (Volante, 2012). Accordingly, this is a critical provision regarding the intended educational program as mentioned earlier.
