Originally, these two events in American-British history are closely linked to each other. The Tea Act provoked the Intolerable Acts, thus, the chain reaction was launched, which was the natural reaction for the increasing aggravation and tension between Empire and Colony. Taking into consideration the notion that American Colonies wished to separate from the Empire, and minimize its influence on the American territory, thus, the Administration of the American territories were dissatisfied by this act.

The Tea Act was originated from the fact, that Britain wished to possess the tea monopoly. Thus the East India Company was required to sell its tea in London, and a special duty was imposed. On average it was two shillings and sixpence per pound. London wished to minimize the taxes, and the Tea Act proclaimed that the tea will be sold through the American territory, thus, the taxes could be essentially reduced.

The Coercive acts became the reaction to the American dissatisfaction with the Tea Act, and in order to impose the trade embargo, and restrict the American trade freedoms essentially, the British Empire wished to take control over the ports, thus, restricting the international trade of the colonies. Nevertheless, sheriffs and other representatives of the American administration appeared to be the patriots (the majority of them) and did not wish to Obey the imperialists.

Finally, it should be emphasized that the original value of the acts for history was in the definition of the real antagonistic moods between these two countries, thus, they changed the course of history.
